This past week was Mazzy's piano recital. She did a fabulous job! We were so proud of her. My sister Misty is her teacher and being that the recital was going to be a little short, she roped me into singing a Christmas medely of Silent Night/Lullaby Little One at it. Ry told me I had to put it on my blog. Our camera doesn't video for long periods of time, so I didn't want to put 4 videos of me singing the whole song, so I just picked the last half of the song, the end got cut off but it's good enough. (the shaking of the camera was due to Bronson climbing on Ryan) Hope everyone is enjoying this Christmas Season!

Bronson, Whitey, and Checkers
When we go up to Morgan to Grandpa and Grandma's, Bronson loves to play checkers with Grandpa Thayne. When Grandpa is not there to play, Bronson gets his stuffed animal, whom he named Whitey, and plays checkers with him. It always cracks me up! So I thought I would share some of Bronson and Whitey's skillz (as Bronson calls it) with you. It's kind of long, but you have to watch until he traps Whitey because Brons does this thing with his arm and says "Yes", like he has really tricked Whitey......I think it is HILARIOUS!!! I also have to add that I think it is so cute that Brons even understands the concept of the game of checkers, he has been playing with my dad since he was 4.

What does Mazzy want for Christmas?
Her 2 front teeth! She is so excited to be singing "All I want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" at Christmas time! She has now lost 4 teeth in the span of 3 weeks, crazy! My little girl is growing up. It may sound cheesy and corny, but this is really bitter sweet for me. She will never have that little girl smile ever again (if that makes any sense at all). Her little looks will be changing now and there is no going back. It's so fun to watch her grow!

Happy Thanksgiving
We had a great Thanksgiving. This year we had Thanksgiving with my family, so we headed up to Morgan to have a great dinner at my Grandpa and Grandma's house. It was GOOD food, good people and good laughs!
Ryan and Shadd coming down off the dryfarm from shooting. This is tradition in my family, who doesn't like a good turkey feast and then some shooting to follow?
I was trying to get the kids ready to go home after a long day of eating and visiting, but they weren't going to have it. They were being as silly as they possibly could be. They put on my mom's boots and were chasing each other around the house in them. Bronson could hardly walk in them, it was pretty funny. Here he is trying to shut the door on me before I could get a picture of him...I'm too fast though.
Here is Mazzy in the same boots, what a girl! (and note the beautiful Christmas tree behind her that my sister and I decorated for my mom, you really can't see it all too well.)

Update for November in a nutshell
November is almost over and I have yet to blog about any of our happenings this month. We have been busy with lots of fun things. The kids, Ryan and I made these fun little turkeys for family home evening a week ago, thanks to my cute visiting teacher. The kids had so much fun making them and eating them....ok so did I.
Here is Mazzy's, mine, and Uncle Shadd's.
Bronson and Ryan's fabulous turkeys.
Ryan bought me Mannheim Steamroller tickets and gave them to me on his birthday last month. Well we finally got to go and it was FABULOUS!!! I can't believe Ryan took me to a Christmas concert before Thanksgiving....what a guy!!! We had so much fun together and I, of course can never get enough of Mannheim Steamroller during the holidays so it was the best night ever!!
Mazzy and Bronson smiling with their teeth missing. (Notice the tie on Brons' shirt, he insisted on wearing it.)

Pumpkin carving at the Jones'
The time is here once again for pumpkin carving. Mazzy had to have a happy jack, Bronson wanted a spooky face with vampire teeth, Ryan didn't want to have a pumpkin, and I made a cyclops pumpkin! Fun times...looking forward to Saturday for our annual spook alley on our porch....anyone who dares to come is welcome!

Toothless
Last week Mazzy's fever finally broke after 6 days! She still has a lingering cough, and runs a low grade fever if she over does it, but other than that she is feeling and doing a lot better! (Now if I could say the same for myself) That was a long haul! So even though she was not tested, I believe, and the 2 clinics that I talked to believe she had the swine flu, fun stuff! During that time she lost her front tooth. She was so excited for the tooth fairy to come again! It was either too rainy or she was too tired to come the first night Mazzy put it under her pillow, but the toothfairy made it the next night....woohoo! There is no turning back now for her little girl looks, she is forever changing into a little lady!

Swine Flu or Not Swine Flu
So Mazzy has been sick since Thursday with a sinus infection and a low grade fever. We took her to the Dr. and of course he gave her meds for her sinuses. I thought the low grade fever was just from her sinuses, which is normal for her to do. But then that night she starts with a full fever and a croupy cough. But it's not her normal croup that she gets...it's been really weird. And it hasn't eased, still a fever and still a cough. She looks pale and really hasn't done a whole lot, but color, watch tv, normal sick things, not too big of an appetite, but still eating and drinking, not too active, but not really lethargic or anything. But things are just not getting better. They definitely could be a lot worse. My mom and nephew have had the swine flu. My nephew Stryder started out like Mazzy, but he has got really sick from it (he started out with a croupy cough). Mazzy, is sick definitely, but she hasn't been too bad. So I thought for precautions, maybe I should call the insta care (seems it is the weekend) and so I called and talked to the nurse. She told me that they had seen kids with the swine flu that were real mild cases and that if she continued with a fever after 3 days that that is more than likely what Mazzy has. She told me where she wasn't too bad it would probably do no good to bring her in because she wouldn't be bad enough for them to send a swine flu test in. So to just go off of how long she has a fever. She said that her guess would be that she had the swine flu if the fever persisted. I don't know what to think or believe. I would think that if she had it she would be a lot sicker, but what can ya do to know if they won't run the test unless you are a severe case? I'll just keep her in until the fever and cough goes away....that's all I can do, I guess. There is so much other sicknesses going around, it's hard to know sometimes. I'm sure this is not very interesting to most of you, but I just needed to vent. I just hate it when my kids are sick.

Happy Birthday to Ryan!
This week was Ryan's 32nd birthday! He made it very clear not to get him anything this year, so the kids and I tried to make it a heart felt birthday. Although he did cave and we went to dinner, just us and his mom. The kids and I made him a birthday cake. I put the "Happy Birthday on" and helped Bronson put the hearts on, the rest was all Mazzy and her easy bake frosting pen! I think she did a pretty darn good job! Then we made cards, one of which we gave 10 reasons each of why we loved him. It was such a good day! And then to my surprise Ryan gives me this envelope that says Hailey I love you. I asked him why he was giving me something on HIS birthday. He just replied cause I love you. He bought us tickets to go see Mannheim Steamroller in concert in November at Abravenel Hall! I LOVE their Christmas music and have seen them once before a LONG time ago and they are AMAZING musicians! I CAN'T wait! Do I have the BEST husband ever? Yes I do! He never ceases to amaze me! I love him so much! Happy Birthday Ry!

A Touch of Fall

This past Saturday we decided to go for a hike and enjoy some of the beautiful fall colors that are coming out. We went up Mueller and had a blast. The kids really enjoyed themselves. It was so much fun to spend that quality time as a family. Ryan has been sooo busy lately with all of his projects and work, that we haven't seen him very much. It was nice to just be able to go!

My little girl is 7!

Mazzy just turned 7 on Sept. 6. I can hardly believe it! She has been such a blessing in our lives and continually keeps us on our toes! She is full of life and smiles and giggles and I can not imagine my life without her! I am so proud of the little lady she is becoming and how kind she is to everyone! I just wanted to share some of my fav pictures of my little girl, I can't believe how much she has grown up!

This was her blankie, she only sucked her thumb when she had this thing and would not take a nap without it! When I would wash it, she would sit in front of the washer and cry "my bankie, my bankie" literally until it was washed and dried!

Kidless Vacation!

Above is the "Water Weenie Incident" that tore my board shorts so my bum was almost hanging out! I think we all got banged up on this dump!
Okay, so this was our last Bear Lake trip that we took I think the first part of Aug. I am way late to post this, but I had to....mainly for my friend Rachael's sake. I just had to post that I finally got "air" while wakeboarding and landed it I think 4 times!!!! It was the COOLEST!!! Ryan finally jumped the ENTIRE wake and was on cloud 9! At one point though he almost made it and took a nose dive into the water and knocked himself out! Scott circled him twice in the boat before Ry finally noticed him. And then he just got back up and kept trying again and again. Also it was so fun because my mom and dad kept our kids and we just went and played with my sister Misty, Scott, Kaden, Shadd, David and Gabe.

A Day in the Life of a Goth!
I have decided to become Goth!......Just kidding! I recently have been asked to serve in the Young Women's of my church as the Mia Maid Advisor. So for Mutual night the Young Women and Young Men did their annual Where's Waldo at the Gateway. They pick people from the Ward and ask them to dress up. Then they bring the YW and YM in groups to see if they can find any of us "not looking like ourselves"! I didn't want to be a lonely Goth walking around by herself so I asked some friends and Jaycee came through for me. Also THANKS Christi for the makeup, she was going to dress up with me but was leaving the next morning and had to get ready so she couldn't make it!
Holy Moly can I just say I felt like I was in a Documentary of "A Day in the Life of a Goth." I can not tell you all of the looks, laughs, glares, thumbs up that we got! There were people everywhere taking "discreet" photos of us on their phones. One guy was trying to be so sneaky about taking our picture, that when he did I told him.."Enjoy that" his mouth fell open and he had this scared look on his face and barely gave me the thumbs up! It was HILARIOUS!!! We were hit on quite a bit too, by "normal" looking guys....and some creepy ones too! And just full out dirty looks from girls, which was quite humorous too! Some people tried to walk by and not stare, just looking wide eyed. Then other people's eyes darted back and forth staring and others just full out gawked at us! I think we surprised all of the YW and YM.....It was TOO much fun!
Check out some more photos of us and some other people that were in this at my friend Paula's blog.....(just click on my link labeled Paula or go to sheridansix.blogspot.com Jaycee has some good ones too (just click on Jaycee and Brett Hammerstrom). Make sure to click on the pics to make them bigger, so that you can see the full affects of our faces and piercings!!
